The found photo is a composite inscribed "Mother and Father" in pencil on the back. The woman appears older than the man. This started a story in my mind that they married to get a larger homestead of 40 acres each.
Along with "She Washed the Clothes and Tended the Garden" and "She Beat the Rugs and Swept the Floor",
a tribute to the women who moved West  during the Great Migration.
